Weight Loss

Today I'm going to talk to you about Weight Loss. The most questions that have been asked of me have been about Weight Loss. It is by far a fast growing epidemic in the world. With all the new technology we have at our fingertips today we find that how we do things now in comparison to earlier times has made it too easy for us. We do not get the exercise that we used to. Our intake of calories has gone up and our exercise level has come down which leads us to being over weight.

I will touch upon a few basic things that all of us should be following, no matter if we are trying to loose weight, gain weight or just trying to intake the proper amounts to refuel our bodies. Let’s take it in a few steps.

We should be eating 4 to 5 small meals a day.
  • This will allow the body to lessen the highs and lows it experiences throughout the day.
  • It will keep your body fueled throughout the day.
  • Knowing that you will be eating again in just a couple of hours helps our mind to get over the fact that it is eating less during each meal.

We should cut down on white starches.

  • Unless you are the type of person who is very active, meaning you run marathons and the like, then you do not need to be eating all those types of carbs.
  • For most of us, the white starches turn into sugar and then fat.
  • Replace white starches with brown rice, whole grains, 100% wheat and whole grain cereals.

We should be watching our caloric intake.
  • Read the labels people. All the information is listed there.
  • Remember that one pound of body weight equals 3,500 calories. So if you’re trying to loose a pound you need to consume 3,500 calories less per week. Conversely, if you want to gain a pound you have to consumer 3,500 calories more a week.

We should be watching the sugars we eat.
  • Here again you must read the Nutrition Labels on the products you buy at the store. Keep these numbers as low as possible.

We should be eating a well-balanced meal with proper portions sizes.
  • Well-balanced meaning 3 oz. of protein, vegetable and fruit.

All these things will help you to eat the right foods in the proper amounts.

That's it for today. Check back to find out more!
